Sony A7R V (ICLE-7RM5) Viewfinder Menu Blur

Hello,

I've just purchased this camera and during setup noticed the menu text streams/blurs across the EVF screen (not the LCD). Taking photos is impossible as the image display suffers the same. Oddly though, set the EVF magnification to 'Zoom Out', and the problem disappears.

The photos taken come out fine, as is the LCD, so it's purely an issue with the EVF. I've reset the camera settings, but it makes no difference.

Thoughts? Has anyone else experienced the same issue with this camera model or an alternative? Is there a solution, or shall I send it back as I'm inclined to with a camera that appears delivered defective?

Thank you.

Rik

Have you tried to change the display quality to high? https://cutt.ly/46zBDMY.
And what's the current version of the camera itself?

Thanks for the reply.

The camera is on version 2, and I've reset the settings and tried everything I can think of.

Happily, the retailer has since arranged a return and will replace it for me, so hopefully this will be resolved to my satisfaction by early next week.

Glad to know that it's getting replaced buddy, are you getting the same model again? Or you went for something completely different?

I'm going for a like-for-like replacement. I already have the A7 IV but wanted to take advantage of the extra resolution of the A7R V, in certain instances, and have the ability to crop from the larger native image size. I only tried taking a handful of shots whilst sorting out the EVF issue, and what I did notice (through all the streaking) was the apparent increased responsiveness of the automated focus. Hopefully, the replacement will arrive this week so I can get properly stuck in with some trials. Thanks again for responding.
