I tried to register my Sony products, https://www.sony.co.uk/mysony/product/register but when I type the model number, CCD-TRV2 (the list filters as you type, there's now only two being shown, 228 and 238E. So it appears at least for this page, my camcorder does not exist. There's a chunk of other numbers I typed from the front of the manual for which my camera applies (lots of models came with the same.manual as you no doubt already know).
Yet it does exist if I go to the Product Support, at https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support and type CCD-TRV20, it helpfully auto suggests the rest of my product code, CCD-TRV208E.
And lo-and-behold, here it is! So why can't I register this model as mine?
Does registering a product as mine grant me anything extra beyond what is listed at https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/camcorders-and-video-cameras-tape-camcorders/ccd-trv208e or is it just a convienient reference to quickly access the above page (or equivalent) for each product without having to specify code each time/bookmark each page.
