Sony Vaio VPCCA2S0E Webcam not working

Sony Vaio VPCCA2S0E Webcam not working

Hi, I am trying to fix a Song Vaio VPCCA2S0E laptop. I canot get the webcam to work.

I have checked the sony europe support page and I cannot find a driver for the camera anywhere.

It coming up as a unknown device in the device manager. I tried uninstalling the device and reinstalling it and pointing it to C:\Windows\System32\drivers but still no luck.

If anyone can find a driver that will work or any other solution that will be great.

Many Thanks

Hi SoulStrider,

To get the system to recognise the camera try the following:

In Device Manager, expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers” and delete all.
Then shut down and remove the battery/AC adaptor and press and hold the power switch for 30 seconds.

Re-attach the battery and AC adaptor and restart your computer. Windows will reinstall all USB controllers automatically and then hopefully the webcam will be recognised.
