55 XH9005 frame stutter on all content

This TV was Brilliant till the last update.

it is now not running any 60fps smooth and seems to be struggling with rendering images 4k content looking pixelated. This is definitely the tv and not my PS5 as my series X is showing the same problems. Also lots of stuttering watching sky. And all these problems since last tv. Please sony tell me this is a firmware problem. If not i will be returning the panel for a new 1

Hi,

Please perform a factory reset and check if the stuttering persists afterwards.

If so, please get in touch with Sony customer support.

Thanks for reply Peter.

i have performed the factory reset with no luck.

it seems the problem is with things connected through hdmi. Like the tv cannot keep up with the data being sent to it. Things are smooth then i get a frame drop so it can ammend itself. Hard to explain just know it isnt as smooth as it was

Is that v6.0466 you're referring to?

Have you tried clearing the cache (under Device Preferences - Storage - Internal Shared Storage - Cached data) then restarting by holding power?

Yes i have tried the methods mentioned.

it is slightly better. But there is still a slight judder. Its like occasionally the tv drops a frame. The flickering has stopped and been replaced with the frame drops.
it happens with my hdmi input content. Native apps work ok

What is the spec of the HDMI cable(s) you are using? Are they HDMI 2.0 cables rated for 18Gbps?

Im using the issued cable for my sky Q box. Also using the issued hdmi 2.1 cables for series x and ps5.

Is it happening on all ports? Have you tried switching the cables or the ports?

Yes all ports. After further looking into it i can now explain it like this.

seems like the tv goes out of sync with the audio then drops a frame to put itself right. Has there been any other complaints like this or am i the only one?

if it is widespread i can put it down to firmware update and will wait for next one to fix. Uf it isnt then i know that i need to escalate.

Hi DarrellBowen87, I would say contact the support directly, it doesn't seem like a common issue so far.

I have the same problem with a KD-55A1, dropping frames. Any suggestions, have tried factory reset etc.
