Hi all,

I feel like this is a long shot, but I'm having a frustrating problem with the power button my Xperia 1 ii.

The fingerprint sensor works ok for unlocking the phone, but pressing the power button works intermittently to lock it again.

Whilst using the phone, occasionally the 'Emergency, Power, Screenshot' menu will appear, without having touched the power button. I believe this menu would normally come up if you were to hold down the power button.

However, it doesn't seem like the power button is jammed on, because sometimes when you unlock the phone, it works fine to lock the phone for a bit, then the problem reappears.

Other times, I touch the fingerprint sensor and the phone locks, as if the power buttons been pressed.

I was hoping it was a software glitch, but having reset everything, the problem persists.

Full disclosure, I bought the phone with a smashed screen and the replacement screen I purchased came with a phone chassis, battery, side buttons, flex cable etc. So the phone is now a combination of working parts from two devices. Not sure if this would have any impact, but worth mentioning. I still have the power button/fingerprint sensor from the other device, so thinking of swapping these over to see if it's a fault in the hardware.

Thought I'd post a message anyway, in case anyone else has ever had the same issue, or might know what's going on here.

Cheers

Richard

@Ritcherd, for me it seems to be a touchscreen issue and I've found this link for it, I'd recommend following the troubleshooting steps mentioned first. If things didn't work out, try reaching out to the Sony support reps directly though, any more digging in different places would just confuse things even more.
