Frustrated: Free Headphones Xperia 1

Hi 

It's quite frustrating to find out I pre ordered with EE direct in the UK and I don't get the free headphone??  O2, sky and even EE through carphonewarehouse.... 

Surely this should of been open directly through Sony?

Has anyone received the free Sony Headphones yet? Just wondering. I haven't recieved them yet.

Some of the offers have a 14 day cooling off period, when you can return the phone, so the headphones won't be sent out until after that

Nearly the end of the 14 day wait period. 

Any body had email of postal tracking ?

I submitted my claim around 10.30am on May 30th, so for me its now just over 14 days.

I received my order confirmation from Kondor shortly after submitting my claim on the 30th.

No shipping confirmation so far....

I will chase it up if I haven’t heard anything from Kondor by Monday...

I submitted on the 30th at 1pm. No step 4 confirmation but I phoned Kondor and the woman said my submission was good to go. Think the website must have been clogged.

No not yet. Hopefully we'll get them next week. I'll let you know if I hear anything from Kondor

I decided not to wait until Monday. Glad I did...

The lady yesterday told me that they do not start purchase validation until next week, and that it can take up to 28 days before the headphones ship after validation is successful. So it looks as though some of us may not get our headphones until mid July

It does actually read that way in the terms and conditions, but I think we were all hoping it meant 28 days from 30th May...
 
It states a 14 days cooling off period to validate claims, but they haven't even started yet!! So I guess it should read that validating purchases doesn't start until after 14 days....
 
As long as I do actually get the headphones eventually, I don’t mind the wait...
 
Has anyone gone on Youtube, searched 4K HDR10 Dobly Atmos and watched some of the demos?
Totally blew me away, picture and sound! ( at least on a mobile device)  You have to make sure Youtube setting is 4k HDR as Youtube will switch to a lower resolution, and make sure Dynamic sound is on and even Dynamic vibration adds to the atmosphere. And remember that you can zoom to fit boarder. Totally awesome.
 
I've read some bad reviews, especially comparing this phone to the Galaxy 10, but I've been hands on with the Galaxy 10 for a few weeks (screen went faulty after 2 weeks!), and although its a nice phone, it just feels like any other high end mobile. With the Xperia 1, I haven’t stopped smiling, especially for movies and music, best picture and sound in class hands down, super fast, and multitasking is a dream. I hated split screen on other phones, terrible, so always ended up not using it, but the Xperia 1, it just works, no getting the text input up, only to not have enough space to see the other window properly, or have to delicately  try to scroll text on what’s left on the other window. The only thing reviewers against the Xperia 1 say is that the Galaxy 10 has a brighter screen... umm ok.... Other negatives were no wireless charging and no finger print reader built into the screen, but if you carry out a good finger print reading it works very well, if it does'nt just try another reading until it does. and one comparison site decided to leave out half the features of the Xperia 1, or draw on test when the Xperia 1 had better specs  just to let the Galaxy 10 win. Camera is great too. The galaxy 10 has a slightly higher Mega pixel on the selfie, but higher mega pixel doesn’t necessarily mean a better photo, that’s all down to the quality of the sensor.  The P30 pro is supposed to be best in class for camera, and its defiantly impressive, loved their way of getting around the optical zoom problem on a thin phone, and so simple once you think about it, but for me the colours seemed off,  everything has a yellowish tint...
 
For me this has so many wins over its rivals, best for movies, sound, and multitasking, super fast, super fast for games, and looks great. Side sense once you get used to it is very helpful too, especially if you get a text that you cant copy, and want to email to someone, just slide up, select email app in multi view and you are good. The camera isn’t the best but defiantly no complaints, I’ve taken some great shots and I’m no pro.  Slow mo is also very impressive. For me this is the best mobile I have ever used and so glad the Galaxy 10 went faulty Canelled and waited for the Xperia 1. I watched a couple of movies on the Galaxy 10 and still felt I'd rather be watching this on my ultra wide on the PC for 21:9 films due to borders on an already small screen. With the Xperia 1, its like a mini home theatre system in the palm of your hand

I had another email from kondor today. It seems that if you already had an order confirmation through, then you have already been assigned a pair of headphones, and they just need to verify your purchase. So you don’t need to worry about whether or not you will get your hands on one of those 1000 headsets. The lady also told me that’s its not like a lottery as to whether or not you will get one. Its based on a first come, first serve basis, and once the headphones are all assigned, late comers will not be able to submit a claim online.
 
I would advise anyone waiting though to make sure your proof of purchase uploaded correctly , even if it said it did, or this could add further to delays in getting your headset.
 
As I made the Sony Xperia 1 out to be the god of Mobile phones in my last post, I thought it would be fair to mention the negatives, but for me these negatives are really nit picking, and would not detour me from buying the phone if I hadn’t already or recommending it to anyone else.
 
Finger print sensor, sometimes when I pull it out of my pocket, it seems to have already recognised failed attempts at reading the finger print. I am guessing it mistakes fabric rubbing against the sensor as a finger print read attempt. ?
 
Auto Brightness. I always have this enabled to save battery , but I do find that sometimes, like when watching a movie it will adjust the brightness at the start to 50% or less, so have to correct it. I only have to do this once, but hopefully Sony can update the software, so that when someone is watching a movie, or You tube etc, the brightness stays at or increases to around 85%.
 
On the brightness, I mentioned that some reviewers downgraded the Xperia 1's score due to not being as bright as other flagships out there, but the reason I gave a 'so what' response to that is because I already find the Xperia brightness too bright at maximum, and usually watch a movie at 85% or browse the internet at night around 50% brightness, so why would I want a brighter phone?
 
Camera, In low light conditions I have found the focus a bit hit and miss. A few out of focus shots or motion blur. But in general, I have been soo impressed with this phones camera, and still learning all the features.
 
Style Cover. What a rip off. Don’t get me wrong, looks good, nice materials, but £50+ for a flimsy piece of plastic?  Sony must know, purely basing this on material cost that you can buy a decent kettle toaster combo, or iron for that price right? Maximum this case should be around the £20 mark. Not worth the money IMHO.
 
Side sense is something you get used to, and after a while, change your habits slightly as to how you hold the phone, but it still does occasionally activate when you don’t want it too.
 
Something I didn’t mention that I feel is totally wrong about Sony hater reviews is the dig at battery life.  I had an Xperia Z5 Premium a while back, and if I was to go on a day out somewhere, I'd be lucky if I had any battery left by the evening.
 
My Xperia 1 had a good test just 4 days after receiving it. I went to London with my Wife, and we went to all the usual attractions, London Eye, Madame Tussauds, Sea Life etc, and went around lots of comic shops, cloth stores etc. Travelled around the underground. The day involved lots of photos, videos, goggle maps, listening to music, watching you tube vids on the way up, searching shops and directions, and a 20 minute walk home in the dark as we arrived back in our home town after the street light turned off for the night, so flash light all the way home. I'd say this was a pretty full days use of the phone, Started 7am, came home around 2 am, and the battery when I checked was at 52%
 
I think when these reviewers look at the 3300 battery on the Xperia , they forget how **bleep** good Sony’s software is at saving battery, and its defiantly improved leap and bounds over the Z5. I have the battery saver kick in at 25%.
 
I have the black version, so last complaint would be finger prints and other marks, they show up so easily on this phone and the Style cover... Usually end up cleaning it at least once a day.

Maybe that's why the website stopped working for order completion. Lady told me my submission was submitted though. Would be nice to get email confirming one way or another.
