Frustrated: Free Headphones Xperia 1

Hi

It's quite frustrating to find out I pre ordered with EE direct in the UK and I don't get the free headphone??  O2, sky and even EE through carphonewarehouse....

Surely this should of been open directly through Sony?

Thank you drlmiles Slightly_smiling_Face

My mini reviews a bit off topic though. ops... but here I go again Slightly_smiling_Face

There have been quite a few reviews now, and I have found that the hands on comparisons where they have both handsets at the same time, always favour the Xperia 1. Hands on comparisons testing the phones at different times are hit or miss for the Xperia 1, and reviews purely going on specs, usually favour the other brand (although why?), and of course there are the Samsung fan boys that purposefully miss out key features to give the Galaxy 10 a win. I'd say the hands on with both hand sets there at the same time are probably more relevant. The reviewer can actually see and hear the difference between the two rather than trying to remember what the other phone was like.

On the other hand, there are reviews like Stuff, where it was obvious which way the review was going to go before even reading, from the over sized Galaxy 10 ( not even the Plus) next to the Xperia 1 on the main review image, and again using battery life and screen brightness as their excuse for the Samsung win.

I dare anyone to test watching a 4K HDR Atmos movie or multi tasking, or playing a game in ultra wide at super slick speeds on the Xpeira 1 side by side against any of its rivals and Honestly say the other brand is a win.... And try taking the Xperia 1 out for a day and see if you still complain about battery life... The Xperia 1 is defiantly not for everyone and does fall short in a few categories, but if movies, gaming, multitasking, music, photography and making videos is your main thing, then I doubt you will regret getting the Xp1.

There has been a lot about Sony in the tech news recently, especially about downsizing its mobile operations. I think one of the biggest mistakes Sony keeps making in its handsets is choice! Especially with its flagships. I would have actually preferred the grey version, but even then its not that appealing. There are only 4 colours for the Xperia 1, and we were only given a choice between 2 in the UK. I do wish Sony would stop this exclusive to EE or Vodaphone Cr*p.  Its not how consumers minds work. I am not going to switch to Vodaphone just to get the grey colour. My wife and many of my family use O2, and there are obvious benefits to all being on the same network and big discounts, increasing with each new family member. So this limits choice. Plain old black isn’t that appealing anymore (Sony need to get over the 90‘s), most people like a shiny metallic phone these days, and the purple is only going to appeal to a select few. SONY REALLY DO NEED TO STOP THIS If they want to improve their mobile sales. Some people really will not buy a mobile phone if they do not like the colour, and plain old boring black, or shiny lipstick purple, is really limiting choice. SONY STOP THIS EXCLUSIVE NONSENSE!! Its not how customers think! IF EE, Vodaphone or any other network approach you for an exclusive on colour in the future, SAY NO!!!! You will benefit more from the extra sales offering more colours to consumers, than the deal you make with said network, I am 100% sure of that.

Hoping everyone that claimed early enough gets there headsets...

@Daveydguk  I think what the lady meant was that the claim website will stop allowing claim submissions once all the Headsets are all allocated. Currently its still allowing people to input their IMIE numbers, so this means there are still headsets available, or that they just haven’t gotten around to validating all the claims yet, and once they have validated their share of the 1000 headsets EU wide, they will stop allowing claim submissions and take the claim form offline.

I would defiantly check back with Kondor and make sure your claim is ok once more. I received my order confirmation within about 10 minutes of submitting my claim via email, and even then resubmitted my proof of purchase by email to be sure.  Have you checked your Junk/Spam folder?

I tried adding my IMEI code and it said it was redeemed. Nothing in spam. I'll wait a week and phone kondor Lady. Ta.

Just been informed that claim validation begins today with shipments beginning after.

I was told the same thing Saturday, that validation starts this week, but that it can take up to 28 days to ship. I guess it depends on where you are on the validation queue before your headphones ship...
