How to attach an Arca-Swiss lens plate to the SEL70-200f4GII

The lens foot has two holes to take the lens plate screws.  Only one of the holes is threaded.  How do you attach the plate?  Is this a design error?

The collar for the lens you mention, is not compatible with the Arca-Swiss lens plate. you need a 3rd party collar

No need to show a picture.  The lens foot does not accept a STANDARD A/S plate and screws.  A really, really poor design decision by the Sony lens engineers.  The hole with the thread for a screw is too shallow to accept the screws which have been used for years.  The unthreaded hole (why?) will accept a stud that is present on some none standard plates.  What next!  Why not change the thread on the lens barrel so that no-one can attach a filter!  Appalling.
