Android TV and Youtube app resolution

Hi,

I have a Bravia Android TV (2015, KD55X8505C) with the latest Marshmallow update installed.

I am trying to watch live volleyball matches from FIVB Youtube channel. The video resolution is just horrible. I tried to change the resolution through the video quality option but regardless of what resolution I choose the end result is always as bad.

I have the Youtube addon in my kodi and using that addon I can get even 1080p without a problem.

What is wrong with the Youtube app on our android tvs? Is this a bug? Is anybody else having this problem?

Google didn't update the YouTube app for Android TV since April 2016... So no matter which Android TV version you have the app is always the same. Sometime it doesn't stream the best formats. We must wait for an update (and I wouldn't hold my breath).
