Bravia KDL-50WF6xx HDMI switch

I've looked at the FAQ's and switched all connections off/on again

I have a brand new Bravia and am using a Sky Q box and Amazon Fire TV. When I attempt to switch between for instance - Sky Q to Amazon using the remote, I select the next HDMI port from the menu (top left). Amazon Fire TV is then indicated at the top of the screen. The screen goes black as if it's about to switch but then Sky Q comes back on

Can anyone help as it's driving me mad

Thanks

Hi mrb2734,

Welcome to the community.

I'll see if I can find this out for you. Maybe someone else in the community can help in the meantime.

Thanks,

Pascale

Hi Mrb2734,

For how long does the screen stay black? Can you provide a video showing this?

Having trouble uploading a vid but I’m changing from HDMI 2 (SkyQ) to HDMI 1 (Amazon TV) but when I try and change again it doesn’t. Screen stays black for about 2 seconds between each attempt

I must stress this is completely random and sometimes it won’t change from 1 to 2 or vice versa at all

banging my head against a brick wall. It’s my first Sony TV and it’s becoming increasingly annoying

thanks

Hi Mrb2734,

Have you tried doing a simple power reset by unplugging the TV from the mains and re-plugging it back in after 1 minute?

I have yes. One of the first things I did. Still having the same problems.
Picture and everything else is outstanding but it’s such a pain having to
mess around with this all the time

The problem could be the Sky box. You may want to buy a cecless adapter for it, avoiding the faulty HDMI CEC implementation that many decoder makers adopt. Try switching off braviasync on your TV to see if it helps

Hi Mrb2734,

I totally agree with Rooobb. I'd say test another device to see if the same thing happens or not.
