Even though XD8088 doesn't have a real HDR support (8-bit panel), I was wondering is there any specific HDMI ports that supports HDR images only?
The reason I am asking is, I have PS4 Pro, connected to HDMI3/ARC port and I am planning to buy an Apple TV 4K which supports HDR content also.
Afaik, HDM3/Arc port is the only port for HDR content from external devices, is that true? Can I connect to any HDMI port to benefit from HDR images (with supporting devices) or does only 1 HDMI supports it and I need re-plug cables?
Thanks!
Unless in UK there are different specs, your TV has 4 HDMI of which 2 and 3 support an higher bandwidth of 18Gbps.
It means that only those ports may support 4K AND HDR AND 60fps that are needed as of now only for game console. An UHD BD player and even an Apple Tv 4K could be connected to any HDMI port since HDR 4k movies are recorded in 24fps not 50/60 while the PS4 pro only on 2/3
