So I just got this TV, the picture quality is amazing, really happy about purchasing it. So my question is, does it have vertical banding or am I just too picky? I'm afraid that if I have to return it, the replacement might be worse.
Note that on the 3rd picture, those vertical bright lines on the far right side are just reflections.

Hi Quinnicus
If you have seen the video that I posted, and the comments from MiCal1967, have you formed an opinion, and if so what suggestions do you have to convince Sony to do something about it? I have rewritten a message to the CEO in the hope that he takes MiCal1967's comments on board and at least arranges for someone to see the problem first handfor themselves.
Thanks for your interest
Colin
Hi @Matrixcolin
Have a look at these:

https://www.cnet.com/news/is-lcd-and-led-lcd-hdtv-uniformity-a-problem/
Of course every manufacturer uses different techniques and materials
The real problem is that the most of the LCDs have this issue. Some less some more.
I don't know if someone can persuade them that it's a hardware issue since this is so common but I suppose you can ask for a replacement.
Thanks MiCal1967
I have cc'd BBC Watchdog in on my reply to the CEO and included a link to the video that I posted. Maybe this might lead to a better response from Sony. Maybe not. I'll keep everything crossed.
Cheers
Colin
