Won't find any Bluetooth devices

Hi, I go into my Bluetooth settings and try to add a device but it just sits there forever saying "searching for accessories". I have tried turning Bluetooth of and on, powering the TV off and on, still won't find anything even though I have Bluetooth speakers that my phone and tablet find.

49XE8005. I packed up using WIFI a year or so ago as it wouldn't stay connected to the router, so now to find issues with Bluetooth is frustrating. I've worked in IT for 35 years so not a 'novice' when it comes to these sort of things.

Hi,

This probably happens because the BT devices are not supported by your TV.

Cheers

Hmmmm.... it doesn't detect any Bluetooth devices at all. I have tried
Google Home speakers, a couple of generic speakers I use with other
devices, my phone, my tablet.

Hi @botty1963. What is the full model number of your TV. It will start with KD.

Hi @botty1963

If you have a look at your specifications you will find BLUETOOTH PROFILE SUPPORT Version 4.1;HID (mouse/keyboard connectivity)/HOGP (Low Energy device connectivity)/SPP(Serial Port Profile).

You will see that the A2DP Bluetooth Profile required for connecting to any audio device including headphones and speakers is missing. Basically the only Bluetooth devices that your TV supports are mouse/keyboard.

However you may be able to install a Bluetooth pairing app from the Play Store.

Ah, many thanks for that. So much for using my Google Home speakers as TV speakers 😥
