DCR HC44E does not switch on thru battery.

Hi, need some help.  I have a DCR-HC44E  for few years now but i am running into problem now.  When the DCR is connected to the Mains thru the AC/DC convertor or thru the desk station, DCR works fine.

When it running thru the battery it does not swith on.  I have replaced / checked the battery but the problem still there

Any ideas ?  Thanks

Gerard

Hi Gerard

Hope all is well. If you find that it works fine through the AC/DC but not via a battery then I would first of all try taking a cotton bud/tip and just cleaning the contact points for the battery on the Handycam and ensure that all the pins are also there if you are able to see.

Generally with copper contacts, any sort of moisture can cause them to oxidise slightly. To be honest not enough to stop all eletrical transfer but it can happen so just rubbing or cleaning them might help.

If that still fails, I would honest suggest that it needs a look at by a service centre since it could be something a little more serious than something you can do youself.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for you quick answer.

Unfortnatly, the cleaning of the battery's contacts on the DCR did not solve my problem

I will get in touch with customer support or repair center

Thanks

Gerard
