You need to use an iLink cable for that camera, connecting the DV-out port on your camera to an iLink (Firewire) port on the computer. Unfortunaltely most modern laptops do not cater for older cameras, so it's unlikely yours has an iLink port built-in.

Another alternative would be transferring to a firewire-equipped desktop PC first, then to your laptop.
