Hi,
I've recently bought an HDR-XR200VE and would like to know where I can obtain a remote control for it (the original was unfortuneately lost!)
Also, I would like an extention mike for it - a small one with a thin, 2 - 3 ft long lead. Is such a thing available?
Cheers,
Littleronnie.
Hi Littleronnie and welcome.
You need a Remote Commander RMT-835 and you will find several available from £38 to £65 if you Google. This one looks cheapest but shop around: -

Looking at the specifications for the HDR-XR200VE, it does not appear to have a standard external microphone input jack: -

However, it does have an Active Interface Shoe that can take an external microphone. These can be wireless via Bluetooth which may suit your purpose (if a bit pricey!): -

Or are camera mounted: -

I really doubt if it is possible to convert a standard wired microphone as you would need a Sony Active shoe fitting.
I have just found a Sony adapter to fit a standard microphone - but it seems to be no longer available: -

Third party adapters appear to be available only in the USA - but you can search in the UK: -

Good Luck!
Very many thanks for your help - I shall start serching and MAY but the item from the States!
Cheers.
