The camera keeps on displaying the message 'movie recording disabled' and I have no idea how it got there, or how to enable it again. Please help if possible. Many thanks.

Hello pointaken - Welcome to the Sony Forums

Does the same problem happen with different DVDs i.e. different brands. Have you formatted the disc correctly in the camera before trying to record on it (this should be offered automatically when inserting a disc for the first time).
