Hello,
I recently bought the Sony RX100 model 3. I'm following the manual instructions to connect to the wifi in order to send an image to a smartphone or laptop. However, this doesn't seem to be working for me.
I've entered my home wifi network password for the Access Point Set. on the camera. The DIRECT-Q9C2-DSC-RX100M3 network comes up on my phone, and says 'connected, no internet.'
With the laptop, I get a message saying 'information of the computer where the data is to be saved is not set to the device. Connect the computer to the device with a USB cable and set it' appears on the camera. However, when I connec the laptop and camera with a USB cable, there doesn't appear to be any options for setting where the data is to be saved.
Any advice on this would be much appreciated!
Best wishes,
Ela Jane

Why do you prime the camera to connect to your home WiFi, if you then directly connect your PC/smartphone to your cameras WiFi hotspot?
If you use direct connection, you need PlayMemories software.
For your smartphone/tablet you need "PlayMemories Mobile" and for your PC/MAC you need "PlayMemories Home".

Thank you very much for getting back to me, Nic! I have PlayMemories on my smartphone and PC. I took the camera to the retailer I bought it from. The staff there can't see why it's not working either. They said it's a known problem though and may require a software update ... hopefully they'll be able to sort it tomorrow!
Thanks again,
EJ
Does Rx100 M3 even have a QR code you can scan? I can’t even find it.
