DSC-H300 Cyber-shot only saving 5 images

Hello, I have been using this camera for a number of years with no issues, but after my SD card became physically damaged I started using a replacement SD card (Sandisk). I formatted the new SD card but find I can only take 5 images that are stored correctly, any other images are not. When I transfer imaged to my laptop images 6 onwards show as 'file empty'?

I believed it was a faulty new SD card, and the supplier sent me a replacement, but it has the same issue.

I have re-initilized the camera, but the fualt remains. I'm guessing there must be an internal fault but was wondering if anyone has experienced similar?

Thanks

Shaun

A question, the memory card is formatted in the camera or via computer?

Hi there.
I've gone through the format process via the camera.
Thanks

Hi Shaun,

Sounds terrible. One question though. What is the size of the SanDisk memory cards you used?

It's a SanDisk ultra 32gb. Previous one was a SanDisk 8gb.
I've ordered a standard sandisk just in case there is a problem with the
ultra - can't see why, as it's in the list of compatible SD cards for this
camera type.
If the same issue occurs, it's got to be pointing to the camera being at
fault.

So I ordered a bog standard Sandisk SD card, as upposed to the Ultra ones I have been having the issues with.

Formatted it in the camera and it storing images fine thankfully.

Very odd, as the ultra is in the recommended list for this camera.

Thanks

Hi ShaunJ,

I'm happy to know that you've manged to resolve this but I was wondering did the memory cards you were using match the specifications mentioned here: https://bit.ly/2N27jFH ?

Hi there, I went on the Sandisk site and checked the compatibility there.
the card used is clearly on there. only thing that is different is the
80MB/s but that wouldn't cause the problem? The one on the site states as
40MB/s
