RX10M4 Power Save mode.

I repeatedly have a problem with the Power Save mode - it often doesn't work!

Yes nothing goes behind the viewfinder to rest set the timer!

Usually, when I go out I turn on the camera, set the zoom to around 500mm and then wait for it to sleep. For the first couple of times it usually works, goes to sleep and wakes up when I half press the shutter button. The it doesn't! I try 10sec, then 1min but nothing will make it work.

Yes, I can do a "reset" and lose all my saved settings which is a pain, and this sorts it for a while but it always comes back!

Hi there,

Have you updated to the latest firmware?

Best wishes,

I very nearly can't be bothered with this forum, having to go through all the stupid signing in rigmarole every time, what country, email, password!!! Why can't the Forum keep us signed in like every other forum?? ADMIN??

Again contacted Sony EU and they come back with the same answer for any problem:

"In attempt to resolve this issue, please follow the below steps and reply with the outcome.
- Switch off the camera and remove the battery for two minutes, reinstert the battery and switch the camera on.
- Initialize the camera by following the steps in the below link.
https://helpguide.sony.net/dsc/1720/v1/en/contents/TP0001561048.html"

So again you turn off, initialise, lose all your settings and information and yes, it solves the problem for a week, then it comes back.

My answer to then is , again:

"After carrying out the "Initialise" yes the camera works just fine, as I said in my first email, but I shouldn't have to keep doing this every week in a £1600 camera, losing all my copyright data and camera settings!
There has to be something wrong in the software that this keeps happening!
I'm running the most up to date firmware, 2.0 so what is wrong?
Also, as I asked in my first email, is there any way I can save all my personal information and settings onto the SDS card so that every time I have the "Initialise" I can quickly re load it?"

They don't read emails properly and just come back with the same old answer, Initialise!!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! 😡😡😡😡
