Cinema pro problem

Hi all,

I've had a Sony Xperia 1 ii for about 6 moths now and I've been experimenting with this cinema pro app.

Not being an experienced in pro video I have a question.

Why is it when I playback my video clips on other viewers and editor apps e.g simple gallery pro viewer and power director movie editor app, it looks different. The colour looks different and it's usually over exposed and washed out, yet on the cinema pro app it plays back perfectly well. It's very frustrating.

Any helpful comments or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Simply put, it's because the other players are not utilising the HDR data so the image will look flat and washed out.

You need to use a player that supports HDR using HLG Data and as for editors, I would suggest using a pc and editing on there, maybe afterwards converting to rec.709 first to include the HDR luminance data into the final output outside the HDR requirement.

I've not had great success in editing the cinema pro files on Android tbh and always end up either using premier Pro or lumafusion.
