Walkman NWZ-B183

How do you set the playing order for tracks to be downloaded onto a Walkman NWZ-B183 in Windows 10?  I have tried renaming the files in the desired numerical order but the Walkman seems to play them in a random order.  I have tried this several times and cannot see any pattern to explain the apparent randomness.  "Shuffle" is, of course, off.

Hi CJK1943, do you put the songs in a file and adjust them as a playlist?

I found the following solution by trial and error.

(1) set your playlist up as a  named folder in Windows (I use Windows 10).

(2) give each track a name which begins with a number in the desired sequence.  Remember, start at 01 and always use two digits.

(3) upload to the Walkman making your folder a sub-folder of the MUSIC folder which comes pre-installed with the Walkman.

(4) to play, select the "folders" option.

(5) then choose the Music folder.

(6) next select the named folder you have uploaded.

(7) remember to deselect the "shuffle" function if you want to stick to your pre-set order.

This works for me and I hope others find this useful.

Hi,

Thanks for the solution. I guess the playlist is usually sorted by the name/ number in the meta data of the file.

Best regards,
