BDV-E370 internet connection issues

I'm having trouble streaming online videos on my new BDV-E370 Home Cinema.

I have bought and connected a Sony Wi-Fi dongle which, after setting up, connects fine to my home router with a signal strength of 100%.  I can access online content, ie BBC Iplayer, YouTube, Lovefilm, etc, but when I select a video to play it just hangs there and says 'loading', have left it for several minutes but nothing.  It works slightly better when I connect an ethernet cable direct to the router but even then I can view a few seconds of video before it just hangs and says 'loading'.  A 2 minute film trailer streams a few seconds of the clip and just stops.  I know it's not my internet connection or router as I can download files and stream videos from both my laptop and desktop computers within seconds.  I have the very latest firmware update, which I dowloaded from the internet and then burnt to a CD and installed.  The problem is with the Sony Blue-Ray unit, either a software issue or a technical fault.  Was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing internet issues.

P.S. Other than the lack of internet video, excellent unit and speakers.

Hi

It is not always a simple check to look at what your PC can do, it has far more enhanced systems to handle poor data transfer, I think the best thing to test is your line speed, try this during peak periods to see how your bandwidth changes, it need to be a constant 2.5M/Bit, also try removing every other device from the network, reset your router and try the wifi again, wireless networks run at the speed of the slowest connected devise, so if a G product is connected all will run at G, dropping out like this is normally found to be either a network or line speed issue.

I'd agree with specialist convergence. Indeed if you are connecting an Ethernet cable and its still taking an age to get video, then maybe there is another problem on the network or you have a very slow connection. I'd hit up http://www.speedtest.net/ via your PC and get an idea of your line speed both when you are normally using the web and when you have all other devices offline. You'd be looking for at least 2-3mb/s for SD content.

Thanks
