RDR-DC505 DVD Recorder Early Morning Startup

I've just bought an RDR-DC505 DVD/HDD Recorder and I'm very pleased with it in all aspects except one; every morning so far it's started up on it's own at 4:15am which, as it's kept in a bedroom, is a bit of a problem!

It turns on briefly, then turns off but leaves the fan (and presumably some other things) running for at least 30mins (I don't know if it would eventually turn off fully, as I've always manually stopped it be turning on and off again).

Does anyone know why this might be happening and how I might prevent it from doing so?

At a guess I suspect it's the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) updating..

I know you may have been half asleep but did you notice the word “UPDATE” appear in the front panel
display.?
