Wierd problem in Xperia M2 Dual

Hi forum members

A serious problem has started cropping up in my mobile since yesterday. The touchscreen does not work as intended nor does the scrolling work. Moreover, for any action on the mobile(say clicking on Chrome icon), an instruction is given in voice -"Chrome". I need to click on any icon for three to four times for it to start working. And with every click, a voice says "chrome". I am unable to scroll through the contacts list. With great difficulty does it scroll down/up.

After i press  the power button on the side, a voice announces the time - 20: 17. Multiple yellow boxes are formed in the homepage. For ex, there is an outline of yellow box in the area where time is displayed, there is a yellow box around the area -"swipe up/down to unlock", around display of telecom operator name area. After multiple swipes, i am able to go to unlock mode.

Further , there is red light near the earpiece, which keeps on flickering as soon as i press the power button on the side.

I am at a loss to understand, what the problem is . Yesterday evening , i updated it to 18.3.1.b.1.8 thinking that it would resolve the problem, but to no avail. In the "safe mode" also same problem persists.

 Hi Abhishek1

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

It sounds like you are on Talkback mode, you should be able to scroll by using two fingers rather than one & you need to tap on each thing 2-3 times for it to select, if scrolling with two fingers & double/tripple tapping does work, make your way to the Settings > Accessibility > turn Talkback mode off.

This should resolve the issue Slightly_smiling_Face
