Hi, hope someone can help.
I need to boot a SVE1513H1ESI (Win8 pre-installed) into Linux either from a USB stick or CD. This is for forensic purposes, we want to wipe the internal drive of a computer that's come back to us.
I have re-set the boot order in BIOS to USB then CD then Internal HDD. However, booting from a USB stick with Ubuntu (it's the USB implementation of RAPTOR 2.5) SEEMS to work but crashes shortly after the spash screen. I can boot from a Win7 USB stick no problem, I just don't have any wiping applications installed 😞 Not yet anyway
If I try to boot from a Linux CD (DBAN), I get a "No configuration file" error
Can anyone help? Other than to suggest putting a portable wiping application on my Win7 USB stick?
Hi Cults14 and welcome.
This has been a problem since Windows 8 Secure Boot was implemented. You can always turn off Secure Boot.
Does anything here help?
