Problem with Synchronisation of iPod!!

Hi there!
I have a problem since the last hours which is really annoying. Sorry...
So, when i connect the iPod to the PC he just makes a sound and shows me at the bottom toolbar right that hardware has been found. Normally, iTunes should open automatically and the programme actually always recognises the iPod and starts syncronizing.

What happens if you manually open iTunes, does it do as it should?

If not then go to Edit > Preferences and under iPod check "open itunes when docked"
