Unknown Mass Storage Controller after upgrading to Vista

Hi all,

After installing Vista in my FE21H, i can now see an unknown device in the device manager:

Mass Storage Controller
Manufacturer: unknown
Location: PCI bus 10, device 3, function 2

Anyone knows what's this all about??

PS - Can any admin please have a look at the search function on the forum? It's not returning
any search results at all - at least for me.

Cheers!

Hi ManelFragoso and welcome to Club Vaio.

This will probably be the Texas Instruments Memory Card Controller Driver.

If you download the Original Vista Driver Pack for the FE41-Series from here: -

http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/downloads/preinstalled/preinstalled.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&m=2550

Right-click on the downloaded .ZIP file and choose "Extract All". Extract the Drivers to a folder where you can find them - say C:\VistaDrivers.

To install the Texas Instruments Driver, go to Device Manager and right-click on your unknown Mass Storage Controller - and choose "Update Driver". Choose to update the driver manually and insist on choosing the driver yourself. Point the wixard to C:\VistaDrivers\Drivers\Memory Card\ti21sony.inf
