VGP-MCA20 doesnt recoginize SD and MMC cards

hello there, i own a vaio fe-31M laptop, since the beggining i have problems reading SD/MMC cards, it won't recognize them at all, and will make the computer freeze, tried various drivers from the vaio support website, and none of them resolved this issue, both SD and MMC are regular SD cards, a 1GB SD card ( NOT SDHC ) and a 32MB MMC.

i have no drivers disk, just recovery cd's i made when i runed the first setup using norton ghost.

the reference of the adapter is VGP-MCA20

does anyone have the same problem? is there a solution? thanks in advance

I think most people have bought a stand-alone USB card reader and given up on the MCA20. There is a good one here for £1.99: -
