Wireless Headphones MDR_RF800R

SOLVED

Wireless Headphones MDR_RF800R

I know this is a very old model but I have been charging them up for over 16 hours and still the red light (charging indicator) is showing which should have charged them fully. Does anyone have any idea if I can test the batterys that are inside the earphones to see if they are actually charging? or any solutions to my problem. Grateful for any assistance as don;t have funds to buy a new model at the moment. Regards Steve X

Hi @bhbh701 and welcome to the Community

Sony's spare parts partner, EET group have

some, have a look Here

You have to sign up though to see the price.

Failing that, Amazon have them, as do Ebay, however I would

always be cautious buying batteries from Ebay in case of fakes.

Cheers.

Hi Steve,

welcome to the Sony User Community Forum..:smileyhappy:

Battery charging times can vary, have you checked to see if the headphones work on battery power.?

It does state in the manual that you can check the remaining battery power by doing the following:-

It also suggests in the manual that the rechargeable batteries should be replaced with new BP-HP550 rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries if the charge only lasts half the expected time, you should be able to purchase replacement batteries from your local Sony store or audio specialist..

It may be worth pointing out the following info from the user guide:-

Turn ON the switch located on the left housing of the headphone, and check the POWER indicator located on the left housing.
The batteries are still serviceable when the indicator lights up red.

Thought it worth pointing out the following info from the user guide:-
