Activate sony xperia z2 tablet sgp561

Hello guys, I just purchased a z2 sgp561 tablet (verizon) from ebay, the tablet works quite great but I can't find any messaging app nor phone call app (dial pad), but from my research this is supposed to support phone calls and messaging app. I noticed while setting up the phone it gave an error (This sim is from an unknown source) hence cannot activate the tablet. But surfing with the sim works just great. I am not in the U.S. so I can't get a verizon sim to activate the tablet. Is there a way to get those apps activated on the tablet and remove the error it gives? Also I tried a system update to lollipop to no avail, I keep getting (Error during DM session).
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

I had the same problem and sadly I could not acvticate it. As far as I know there is no Phone App on the Z2.

The only thing I can tell you is how I updated to Lollipod without having a connection to the Verizon network. Download the Xperia Companion to your PC and start the software repair. The software repair will flash the most recent software on your tablet (which is Android 5.1.1 for Verizon, the standard Z2 Tablet has Android 6 already). Unfortunately this will delete all your personal data on the Tablet. So, do a backup before.
