Beats headphones

Hi.

I have beats solo HD headphones (about 3 years old) and have purchased sony Xperia z2 few months ago. Why does sony not recognize the headphones when I connect it? Is it problem with sony itself or the beats? Have someone encountered this problem? I think it's generally android problem, since it does connect to samsung s4, but doesn't connect to relatively old htc phone and my Xperia.

Does the phone recognize the headphones or something it's connected at all?

It seems that those headphones are OMTP standard rather than CTIA, you will need an adapter OMTP < > CTIA
