Battery protection mode does not work. XZ Premium

can you elaborate on the "not working" part? is Battery Care enabled in Settings > Battery > Battery Care? do you get the Battery Care notification when plugging the phone in?
The Battery protection function extends battery life. This feature detects the device's charging patterns and estimates the start and end times of regular charging periods. The charging speed is controlled so that the battery reaches 100% directly before disconnecting the charger. Xperia XZ Premium in my case the function does not control, regular charging cycles, about 10 cycles and there is no battery protection.

I have this same issue. Owned the phone since 1/18 U.S. dual sim version. I figured the phone needed to remember my charging patterns, but after 2 months, I think it's time to start complaining about the (many) issues on this (brilliant) smartphone.
Battery protection function ... I only have this problem. The other functions of the phone are a great thing and there is nothing to complain about just praising, the phone is on 07.07.2017.

Everyone's Battery Care works the way it's suppose to? Are we the only few with this issue? I have only seen this function work 1-2 times in 60+ days of ownership. Please chime in with any suggestions or examples of this issue. & before someone asks, yes my Battery Care has been activated since purchase late December after Christmas.
I guess the reason nobody responds to this is either because they have not seen this problem themselves or they are not sure what the problem actually is(thus can't suggest a solution). Sadly, I'm on both sides.
The only thing I can suggest is to do a factory reset(to restore the app). This will hopefully fix the problem. If not, you might need to reinstall the entire OS itself via Xperia Companion. Or bring the phone to your nearest service center.
