My XZ1 Compact has developed a strange bug I can't seem to fix. Launching the camera causes the phone to crash, even in Safe Mode. It happens when I launch the camera in any way: by button, by app, or inside another app like WhatsApp or Snapchat.
I restarted the phone in Safe Mode and problem persisted, so I did a software repair in Xperia Companion. The problem continues. Anyone know a fix? I'd love to be able to use my camera again.
I'm running Android 9 build number 47.2.A.10.80 on the XZ1 Compact.

Hi @SonyXperianced, I am sorry to hear about this.
If the behaviour that you are mentioning persists in safe mode and after a software repair, I am afraid that the only thing left to do is to get in contact with your local support team in order to have your phone sent to an authorized service center to be examined and possibly repaired.
If you have any questions regarding the service such as routines, warranty and consumer laws, these kind of questions are best answered by your local support team as well.
Let me know how it goes

Hi @meandmysony, sorry to hear about this.
As i mentioned previously in the thread, if the behaviour persists in safe mode, I would suggest that you try to repair the software on your phone using a computer and Xperia Companion. Keep in mind though that a software repair will erase all user data from the phone, so make sure to do a backup before the repair.

I hope that helped!
