Hello everyone!

We tried out a new concept where we mainly let our community assist each other with product/feature questions in the Xperia XZ Premium board and it was a success! So, let's keep it rolling. 

The purpose of this thread is to ask anything that you wish to know about the Xperia XZ1 Compact; other users owning an Xperia XZ1 Compact and forum staff will do our best to reply! 

As an example, prior to purchasing an Xperia XZ1 Compact, you may be wondering if someone has tried out a specific third party app or feature on their XZ1 Compact, and could tell you a bit more about the compatibility and functionality as the app may important in your daily life. Staff and other users can come in and reply and let you know how it works!

The goal of this thread is to help each other out as a community. We will try to moderate this thread so that any new threads with a fitting question will instead be moved here, while we of course keep support threads the way they are now.

Ok yeh.... I should of rebooted (especially as I used to work in IT)!! but why oh why do these things happen.  Even if I changed to a different wallpaper and then back to my original (blueygreen) it was still dark.

So back to how it should be thanks.

I got this phone recently, my first Sony phone. It's almost unusable indoors because of the GPS drop-outs. I know this is a known issue, has there been any progress on a fix or work-around?

Can someone tell me ,why Sony make the crap decision not to move aps to SD card? At least some aps users could move them . No ?

Hi Fellas!! I have some questions regarding the Messenger App in ZX1 Compact:

> Can you change the conversational background for different contact fields of text?

> Can you have your own avatar be shown when engaging in text with a person? (For yourself obviously)

That would be it. My prec[v] ious phone had these functions, namely the Z5 Compact Xperia!

Hi my XZ1C keeps freezing randomly and then restarts. It happens at least 3 times a day. I've done software repair via the companion app and also a factory reset. I also have a  XZS which I have never had a problem with and have the exact same apps on it so checking in safe mode wouldn't be useful. Do you think it's a defective model. I'm thinking of taking it into a Sony repair centre if nothing else works, thanks

I'm trying to give my old Sony Xperia phone to my friend. I have factory reset it and need to put my old account details into the phone to unlock it for him.

However i forgot my password so had to reset it.

I did this and i had the notification appear to wait 24 hours. This was 2 weeks ago. I check twice a day, turn the phone on and off, change Wifi, take out and put back in the old and new sim cards. Nothing helps.

Before this 2 week stint, i waited 5 days and eventually did another password reset in case it was bugged. which is what i am now 2 weeks into waiting for..

Something seems off... anyone know how to help me?

You can check the last firmware update available depending in your software costumization version in Xpericheck.com. To know your costumization version go to the Service Menu info (dial *#*#7378423#*#*).

Hi, the sound on my incoming calls has randomly stopped working. The sound works for everything else and plays when I change the ringtone. It isn't on 'do not disturb' or anything like that. I've googled my problem but all the answers are the same and sadly nothing works! I'm hoping that some lovely person out there can help me please! 😊
