Hello everyone!

We tried out a new concept where we mainly let our community assist each other with product/feature questions in the Xperia XZ Premium board and it was a success! So, let's keep it rolling. 

The purpose of this thread is to ask anything that you wish to know about the Xperia XZ1 Compact; other users owning an Xperia XZ1 Compact and forum staff will do our best to reply! 

As an example, prior to purchasing an Xperia XZ1 Compact, you may be wondering if someone has tried out a specific third party app or feature on their XZ1 Compact, and could tell you a bit more about the compatibility and functionality as the app may important in your daily life. Staff and other users can come in and reply and let you know how it works!

The goal of this thread is to help each other out as a community. We will try to moderate this thread so that any new threads with a fitting question will instead be moved here, while we of course keep support threads the way they are now.

Hi Sony community!

On the Sony Mobile website, the XZ1 Compact's specifications page lists its main camera as being able to take low light photos of up to ISO 12800. However, my XZ1 Compact can only go up to ISO 3200. Quite a disparity! I've checked the exif data of my previous low light photos, as well as retake new photos in low light conditions, both in Superior Auto and Manual mode. The highest ISO is indeed 3200.

So is this an issue with my phone, or is this endemic to others as well? Thanks in advance for any help!

Iso 12800 is achieved in auto mode during very low light shots.

In manual mode, the highest is indeed 3200.

You are indeed correct. I failed to notice that there are two modes for low light photography. I assumed Night Mode was the right one but in fact only when the Auto mode selects Low Light can ISO 12800 be achieved. Thanks for the clarification Viridis!

Can you tell me what the different notification light colors indicate ?

Depending of wich app generates the notification the color can be different (for example Facebook notifications generate a blue light). Some apps even let you choose the color of the notification light (like for example WhatsApp, by default is green but you can change it).

Is there any way of locking the volume button on the side on my Xz1 Compact. It keps raising and lowering the volume when it's in my pocket, pushing the volume button by accident.??  Thank's

So, AVG protection offered to buy in on their vpn-service. I'd trust them and am now stuck on settings and/or permissions. 

When activating vpn, a popup appears, saying avg is attempting to set-up a vpn connection and that I should only allow that from a source that I trust.

The text (in dutch of course) in the popup-window is somewhat broken.

Anyone recognise these events?

In settings-vpn-add, no avg-profile appears...

Any ideas why my homescreen wallpaper has turned dark?

My homescreen wallpaper is one of the stock solid colours (Blueygreen) which when I touch hold the homescreen background, I can select and it looks a blueygreen.  But when on the home screen it is so much darker than on the scelection screen.

It was fine when I set it up a couple of months ago and has been fine for a long time.  It change to a dark version of the colour either yesterday or the day before I think.

Anyone any clues?
