Xperia XZ Type C to 3.5 mm jack adapter

Hi there, recently my xperia xz headphone jack died, can i use type c to 3.5mm jack adapter? Is it require some special cable with special chip inside to output audio or just ordinary type c to 3.5mm jack adapter just work? Thanks
