Hi.

Recenly upgraded my trusted Z5 to the XZ1 and it's a fantastic phone. HOWEVER ..... After having it a few days I have noticed the following, firstly when taking the phone off charge and checking the battery drain, it claims to have only around 1 day and 6 hrs and when i use it to check social media or look at a web page it can lose aeound 3% in 5 minutes. I applied the software repair through XC and my first checks looked promising and it displayed a stand by of over 4 days. I used the phone all day yesterday as normal and at the end of the day (16 hrs use) it had around 35% left,popped in charge overnight and after 10 mins use this morning it has dropped 5% nd saying just over a day left of standby. Any ideas guys?

Not seeing that on my XZ1.

Can you please post a screen shot of your battery usage? It can help us more in solving your problem.

Hi, well I wouldn't say xperia xz1 has the best battery performance among the rest of flagships but certainly isn't the worst. For me is a great performer, it gives me around 4 or 5 hours of screen on time and 16 hours on battery, using it for work(mail check and write) , always with cellular data on, whatsapp, maybe 1 hour of YouTube and around 0.5 to 1 hour in calls. At the end of all that still get home with 25% or 35%. Almost every day from 7 am to 12 pm it goes from 10% to 75% and from 12 pm to 9 pm from 75% to 35%. If it goes the same to yours then its okay, I am happy with battery.

That's massively better than what I get. You use 40 percent in 9 hours? Mine can gobble up 70 percent easy.

I was getting frustrated with the battery drain when idle. About 2 percent per hour. There's a quarter of my phone gone doing nothing.

Using Xperia actions I have atleast been able to get through the night using only 1 percent by having Xperia actions turning on airplane mode and battery saving.

Just for reference. I just used about 10 percent in maybe an hour of just light browsing

I'm not a heavy user, so my XZ1 last 48h with 4h SOT. (Facebook, whatsapp, browsing, phonecalling)

I might get 48 hours if I did nothing. 2 percent idle drain per hour, a very conservative estimate

The battery performance is massively reduced after the Android 8 update. When will this be rectified by Sony with an ota patch? I never get a day out of the device and I am a light to moderate user....

follow the steps

Charge the phone 100%
use it as you normally would
once the battery has reached 10%
1. Settings
2. Battery
3. take a screenshot of this
4. Menu
5. Consuming apps
6. Show all consuming apps
7. take screenshots of the list
8. tap on the top 5 items/apps on the list and take screenshots of each
9. post them all here.
