How to check model number of my Z3?

Hi,

I've just bought a Xperia Z3 but the LTE Frequency does not seem to work.

I registered the phone on Sonymobile.com, but the software versión changes everytime I enter the site.

For example, yesterday the version of software asociated to my phone was 23.2.A.1.62, today, earlier was 23.1.A.0.726, now the version I see is 23.0.A.2.93.

A friend told me that knowing the version of software asociated to my IMEI I can check if the model is the D6603 or the D6653.

I bought the model D6603 because that is supposed to be the model that works with LTE frecuencies on my country.

The D6653 does not work with LTE on my country.

Can anyone help my to find if my Z3 is D6603 model?

Thanks!

I see.

well thats kinda complicated.

To check the actual hardware then you could hook up your phone with PC via USB cable and open PC Companion and see its model name there.

Or else you could download AnTuTu Benchmark for even confirmation on the specs.

Last but not least try this

Open Dialler App > Press *#*#7378423#*#* > Tap on Service Info > Tap Model Info

See if theres any difference in model names in those three steps.

Just in case,is your phone have unlocked bootloader or/and have root access?

Hi! Slightly_smiling_Face

Have you tried checking at Settings?

Settings > About Phone > Tap on Diagnostics.

From there you could confirm if your device is D6653 or D6603.

Hi ash,
Yes, I Tried that but someone told me that this could be a D6653 With a software of a D6603.
I bought this phone as refurbished, so thats why I have the doubt.

Hi Ashroft98,

I checked the options you told me and the model is D6603.

The problem now is why it does not work LTE in Argentina. This model should work with that frequency here, I check that before I bought it.

Should I open a new post for that?

About your question, I see that in Rooting Status says Bootloader unlock allowed : Yes.

Thanks again Ashroft98!

Yeay now you know your phone's model and that your phone bootloader is indeed Locked. The next step is addressing your problem.

About LTE usage,it varies according to your carrier. It might depend on your sim card(make sure your sim card is 4G/LTE enabled one),signal reception/avaibility and also in some carriers, type of your internet package(which depends on the carrier itself)

My opinion is that you dont need to create a new post here but instead make a call to your carrier provider/or create a post at their forum and let them solve the LTE problem.

Tell the carrier provider that you have LTE-capable device but ask them what more requirements needed to use LTE.

I have a strong hunch that you could use your Xperia Z3 with LTE but only after a few tweaks here and there by the carrier provider.

No problem mate Slightly_smiling_Face and oh i hope you didnt get involved with the massive flood in Argentina Slightly_frowning_Face

Cheers

I've already check that with my carrier. This model should work with LTE, but it only takes 3G signal.

I also try a SIM from an other carrier that in an other phone works with LTE, but in my phone does not get the LTE signal, so the problem is in the hardware or in the ROM software, but I don't know what else to check.

You could lastly repair your phone's software

Repair with PC Companion

Download and intall PC Companion > Connect your phone to your PC and open PC Companion > On PC Companion press Software Update > Press a small blue line "repair my phone/tablet" > Wait for repair and follow on-screen instructions

It will take some time and will use Internet .This might be last try before you need to send your phone to nearest Sony Center for checkup with the technicians.

I tried that and it shows me a message that there is no software available for this phone

Thats odd.

Could you take a screenshot of your PC with the error and upload it here?

*or you could upload the picture at google drive/dropbox/etc and paste the link here
