Yep its normal some can be tight or rough when zooming , but it will get smoother with abit of use , it,s a good kit len,s as good as canon tat and the nikon kit len,s .If you think its very bad take it back to where you got it and ask for repair or replacment for the lens , mine was stiff at first but soon settled down and i like it alot , my mate got a sigma to replace it at £200 ish and the very very slight improvment in image quality isnt worth the cost and the macro/close up is better on the sony len,s.Anyway im rambling on ,enjoy your new camera .:smileyhappy:
