Slt A65 steady shot problem?
Hi. I have 3 x A65V bodies. One started playing up in the summer with out. Of focus shot / shakes. I have tried a variety of lenses including Sony and it's always the same. Seems. OK with flash on for sucjects close but all. Handheld and tripod shots show shake. Today I tried. My New Sigma lens and blurred images. Tried on other bodies and fine. For the heck of it, I turned the SS off and instant 10 x improvement. Clear handheld even at 1/20 f6. 3 @280mm. Steady shot on again, awful etc.

Playing today, really poor with it on, ok with it off. Image shot at 280mm handheld with steadyshot off.
Test images with steadyshot on were just not worth posting.

Hi LumpyCBR, try the below steps to resolve the issue:
-Update the camera:
https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/a-mount-body-slt-a60-series/slt-a65v/downloads
-Take the batteries out for two minutes and test again.
-Initialize it, page 62: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4287/42879531M.pdf
Let me know if that made any difference.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. The software update is done and current. I tried the battery out. Battery out and lens off. Initialising camera after all that. Resetting to settings on the other 2 bodies. Then doing the battery thing again. All to no effect. Very odd.

Does it affect only one of the bodies? Or are all of them affected?
And they're all the exact same model? And are you using lenses supported with steady shot?

- Thanks for taking time to reply. One body of the 3. All lenses completely compatible. Steady shot is within the camera and not the lens. Lens with OS systems remain off. Most bespoke lenses do not have OS on Sony due to it being in the body. This only manifested itself in Q4 2022 after years of great service.

Since this is only affecting a specific body with all lenses, and a factory reset and settings reset for it didn't help, I think you're due a call to Sony support to book it for repair buddy.

Thanks for the reply, yes I think I had come to that conclusion too. Happier now I found with SS off it will perform nicely again, just annoying the SS is playing up. It wouldn't be so bad if turning SS on made no difference, but to cause a shake, or focus shift is a real pain.

Well am glad to learn that it's working fine with SS turned off at least. Cause know you know what to do if you want the feature back on. You just gonna have to live without it for a couple of weeks XD
