It's quite different even if an update to a major release could be expected (and should by Google agreement) it doesn't means that the tv won't be supported anymore. Sony didn't say anything about it (no denial nor acknowledge). Bear in mind that any other major vendor do not apply any major release upgrade year on year on any tv, if this could be a reason to change brand
