New TV doesn’t do what I was promised

I just bought a 43XG7073 SU smart TV from PC World / Currys. They promised it could download the new Apple TV app. But after setting it up I can’t even download regular apps like Vimeo our TedX A’s there is no download option for apps. There’s just the pre-installed apps like Netflix and Amazon’s Prime. Also, I cannot find Google Assitant on it although the in store info said it is a feature. Has PC World / Curry’s missold this TV to me?

You are also posing in the wrong section of the community. Your tv is not an android tv one and cannot download anything new aprt what is just preinstalled. If they told you it was, you know what to do

Hi @3dDom3   It looks like you have been misled. For starters it is not an Android TV (this forum). The smart TV description relates to the the included apps. Currently there is little scope for the cheap value entry level Sony TVs to expand the number of apps since the removal of the VEWD store. This may change in the future if Sony make an agreement with another app provider but I wouldn’t hold your breath.
