Remote failed to connect

Hi I have a Sony XR55. 
I have tried many ways to connect the remote, but since the update I cannot get it to connect it keeps on coming up saying connection failed. 
has anyone else had any issues, please? Thanks for any help

Hi @Nil010   All I can suggest is power reboot everything, TV at the mains plug and Remote remove the batteries for a while. Make sure that you are close to the TV.

Note, XR55 is too generic, what is the full model number?

Hi it’s a XR55A80LU. I have tried most things now and feel like it’s going round in a circle. Thank for your help.
