Sony A8H 2020 stuttering picture

Hi

I've just bought a 2020 A8H and watching 1080p and 4k movies from my Macbook connected via HDMI to the TV.

However I've noticed it is not a smooth picture and there is a sort of stuttering which really is running the experience. Any idea as to why? I've tried playing around with the motion flow settings with no luck. The HDMI is a premium certified cable from Monoprice and is connected via an Anker adapter to my Macbook.

What frame rate are you trying to use? I’m looking at Anker devices that are only rated up to 30Hz, and even if you have one that does more, you may have a 50Hz/60Hz discrepancy,

Your TV is only a display so if it's bad usually it's the source that is faulty.

You need to be sure what is the signal output from your mac so we can help you out. Unlike TV laptop/deskstop are pretty dumbs and don't send the automatic correct signal output.

For 4K content, it's recommended to use a 48Gbps HDMI cable. You could check that as well.

I’m sure it will come - but for the moment, don’t you mean Mbps?

***It seems like I wasn't completely there when I wrote my last comment.

HDMI cables do have a bandwidth measured in Gigabit/second. The higher quality ones (recommended for 4K) are rated at 18Gbps.

You don't need a 48Gbps cable unless you're trying to run 8K content.
