TV loses connection to soundbar
Hi, Since the last update my Kdl w43-755 has started to regularly drop connection to my soundbar: Sony HT-XT100. I'm struggling to narrow down the trigger for the sound to switch back to TV speakers (powering on TV is fine and auto standby is off on the soundbar) I think it might be switching sources as it happened tonight after switching from Netflix to TV without exiting the app, but there's definitely a bug here where there wasn't in Marshmallow

Hi Tarpii,
I will look into this further and update you when there is more information. Meanwhile, maybe some other community members will have some advice for you.
Best wishes,
Ed

Hi Tarpii,
Have you tried a different HDMI cable? If you have and the same exact thing happens, I'd recommend trying to clear the cache by going to Settings > Storage & reset > Internal Storage then clear the cached data.
Also, make sure that Audio system is selected as the audio output: Settings > Sound > Speakers > Audio system.
It would also be a good idea to test a digital optical connection between the TV and sound bar as a test if possible.

I have not changed or moved the HDMI cable since upgrading the software,
but I will consider changing it. If I were to use an optical connection,
could I expet te soundbar to power on with with TV, I thought this was a
HDMI(CEC) only feature?

Hi Tarpii,
The auto power on is a HDMI feature only so the soundbar won't turn on with the TV while using digital optical.

Happened again today - powered the TV on and the soundbar did not power up.
I will try to dig out the optical cable tonight and see if it performs better by leaving the soundbar on constantly.
