HDR XR 550 error message c;32;60

My cam corder has suddenly started showing the above error message and wont focus. Pretty peeved as I use this camcorder a lot and love it! Any suggestions other than removing battery and resetting?

Many thanks

Hello Conor - Welcome to the Sony Forums

If you have already tried to full factory reset procedure and the error message is still appearing, it is most likely that this is an internal error within the camera and possibly a mechanical one. This will mean that a repair is necessary.

The exact process will depend upon how long you have owned the camera i.e. if it is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty. I would advise you to contact Sony Customer Services using the details on this page:

http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/contacts/dime

If a chargeable repair is the only option, bear in mind that you can shop around for the best price if you have any local businesses near to you who offer camera repairs.

Thanks,

Simon

Hi Simon

Many thanbks for the reply.

I just found out this morning that mycamcorder is out of warranty. I bought it in Switzerland 2 years ago from a reputable shop that I se a lot. I was quoted 600 Francs for the repair.......in other words it is beyond economic repair. Pretty frustrating as it takes great movies................

I will look for a camera repair shop in London.

Many thanks again

Conor
