I cant connect my camcorder DCR-TRV18E to my laptop

Hi,

I am having problems connecting my camcorder to my laptop to download video.

I have Windows 7 and the camcorder driver isnt recognised.

Can anybody help please?

Hello Andy - Welcome to the Sony Forums

Are you connecting over USB or FireWire? If it is USB, there may not be a working driver for this camera on a Windows 7 PC and if I were in your situation, I would prefer to use FireWire as long as your PC has a functioning FireWire port. Even if it doesn't, they are reasonably easy and cheap to add to a desktop computer.
