Video background
I have just brought a Sony HDR-PJ200 handycam can anyone tell me how I can video myself and blur out the background. The guy at the camera shop tells me that the camera can do this.
Thanks

Hi Ford, welcome to the Sony Forums
You should be able to force the camera to shoot a wide aperture using Portrait mode; this will help blur the background.
It will help if you place the camera a good distance from yourself and zoom in a little. The further away you set the camera, the more you can zoom and the more out-of-focus the background will be.
Another factor is the distance from yourself to the background. Make sure you are positioned well in front of it, ideally a couple of metres or more, for the focus to isolate you and what's behind you.
If you need any more help, just shout
Cheers
Mick

Hello Mick
Thanks for your quick reply.
I'll give that a try tomorrow.
This camera has projection but when I playback my video on the wall, the image is blurry.
I try to zoom but it doesn't make any difference.
Thanks
Ford
