My camera was working fine one day but when I turned it on the next day all I got was a black screen displaying some icons and it would not take any pictures. It won't switch off properly and the lens remains extended. I've checked that the battery is fully charged, and if I remove and insert the battery I can access the menu but that doesn't seem to work either. I tried the reset options but nothing happened. Any idea what could be wrong and if it could be repaired without being too expensive? The camera is nearly 3 years old but hasn't been used much due to the pandemic so I don't want to have to buy a new one.
Thanks.
Hey VivMgt72, there's nothing else can be done.
Try contacting Pencoed ahead to see how much is it going to cost you:
email at scs@sony.com or call 01656 867347.
Thanks for your reply. I'll try contacting them, but I think I'll go back to my old compact camera - it's not a superzoom and is about 13 years old but at least it works!
Hi VivMgt72, that's another option as well. Anyway, thank you for updating the thread.
